Robinhood Medieval Forest - DIY Book Nook Kit

This is not necessarily a "beginner" build, but it was very easy to build. Everything snapped together beautifully! I think I only used the glue to reinforce some joints. The double sided film is annoying but eh... The glue was a good one even if I didn't use much. It's pricey but so worth it! nookfan is one of the best brands I've built. Would definitely buy from them again.

This Nookfan Robin Hood Book Nook Kit was something that my LEGO loving daughter wanted to try. It was something new for us, and it looked like a fun, different kind of project.We'd never done anything like this before, so we went in as complete beginners. It definitely requires patience and some attention detail, but it's doable if you take your time.The instructions were well done. There's a lot of detail, but they're clear enough to follow step-by-step, which made a big difference for us. It also came with all of the tools that we needed, so we didn't have to search around the house or head to the craft store in order to get started.The finished book nook is really cool. It's fully three-dimensional, and the LED lights allow you to see the details and makes it stand out even more when it's done.This was a fun project for us, and I think most people who enjoy hands-on-builds would enjoy it. Just know that this is not a quick project - it requires patience, but the end result is worth it.

I’ve put together many kits like this and they range from so poorly produced that they can’t even be put together to excellent. This is definitely in the excellent camp. The pieces are clearly marked, the instructions are detailed with images of all steps and there are special pointers added when the position of a piece might be tricky. M least favorite part of doing kits like these is the wiring because often the instructions are confusing and the different wires are difficult to identify. This is the first kit I’ve done where the wires are all colored differently making them easy to know you are placing the correct wire. The instructions are excellent and this made the wiring for me a blessed relief. The only negative I could say with this kit is that there is some gluing necessary. This resulted in occasionally having to wait for glue to dry before proceeding. I found this a little frustrating at times but really just a small inconvenience. I think the finished piece is great and again I found the overall quality of this kit to be excellent.

Overall, I really liked this book nook kit, but there were a couple of issues. First, the good parts. The theme is "Robin Hood", and most of the kit is a medieval castle. The main emphasis of the kit is on the castle itself, with a drawbridge, battlements, etc. There are a lot of nice details, and everything goes together well. The wiring is well-designed, and the kit is nicely enclosed to protect it from dust. I ran into one technical issue with the kit. The lights don't turn completely off. This might be a "feature" or a bug, but the lights only go from very dim (not off) to bright (see photos). The only way to turn the light completely off is to remove the battery. The second issue is aesthetic. The kit attempts to use forced perspective, but this has been done much more convincingly in other kits.

This is an exceptionally well done design.. a classic story in a booknookAll pieces are extremely sturdy, no breakages.The kit includes everything you need, including the best instruction booklet I have ever worked with, so clear and concise.The lighting was easy too, 6 LED bulbs and 2 strip lights.I have built many booknooks and have to say that I enjoyed this the most of any I can remember.I so highly recommend this kit!!
