if you enjoy detail work, assembling models, and spookiness, then this set is for you!The pieces come in 14 precut wooden sheets, plus several sheets of transparent pieces. The pieces are relatively easy to remove from their sheets BUT DO NOT REMOVE ANY PIECES UNTIL YOU NEED THEM.Assembly instructions include 198 steps, with some steps requiring as many as 15 pieces...so, yeah, it's a lot.I had a free day, so I sat down with the intention of assembling the entire build. By about 3 hours into the build, using glue only where indicated in the instructions, I was ready to install the lighting and start connecting some of the larger sub-builds to each other. This is when things started to go sideways.When I started attaching larger side pieces to the center sub-build (assembly step #132), pieces started to come loose, and some sub-builds started to fall apart (see photo #1) . I tried to triage the build and reassemble without having to disassemble things. This didn't work.I think this is a cool build, so I decided carry on by disassembling parts that were unstable and then reassembling the entire build, gluing EVERY JOINT together as I went (photo #2). This would prevent the same tragedy from happening again that happened the first time through.If you are looking for a simple snap and build experience, this will be a 1/5 experience for you.If you enjoy detailed work, taking a longer time to do things right, and going above and beyond the stated build instructions, then this will be a 5/5 project for you.For me, I'm a little in the middle, so I'll award this 4/5 stars.As for the design and overall effect - 5/5 stars. It's just a challenge to assemble.I have a high degree of confidence that I'll be able to complete this and have a great build.I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THIS FOR A CHILD YOUNGER THAN THEIR MIDDLE TEENS. PREFERABLY FOR ADULTS.

This overall scene is good, but everything is extremely loose.I had to use glue on over 90% of the connectors. They provide glue with the kit, and you will need it.The assembly was very annoying as a result and was often very worried that pieces would not stay together while finalizing.I feel like the lights are a bit too bright, but otherwise the scene came together well.Seller reached out and I am updating my review to include an additional star for the support. I provided as much feedback as I could incase improvements can be made to the product.

I was actually really impressed with this book nook. I mean, once u get past the fact that the whole theme is murder and haunted dolls, its actually quite lovely. Seriously though, the structure is actually really beautiful and intricate. Its like this old Gothic mansion im assuming.. but this was pretty enjoyable to put together. I like doing the book nooks that have aLOT going on in them... something that I couldn't ever finish in one or two days, no matter how hard I tried. This one took me about a week. Maybe a little longer...the pics dont do it justice though. I had no idea it was gonna be this cool.
When i first got the package I was surprised at how much heavier it was than the other two I had to work on. Well that's bc it had like 16 sheets of wood! The other ones had like 4. On a good day.
Another thing I really liked about it is that it had like 7 different light strands to put in all these different places, and they were all different kinds of lights. My fav is the one on the very top, looking down on a coffin. It flickers like a candle! Omg LOVE this kit. So worth it.
Now i can add 'Nookfan' to my very small list of amazing book nook company's.
I will attempt to take some good pics but I already know they aren't gonna do it any justice. Ah well.. I'll try...

I wish I had taken more pictures. This was by far one of the best DIY kits I have ever had the pleasure of building. You can immediately feel the quality of the pieces by the packaging, it was extremely heavy compared to my others. The instructions were amazing and it even came with a hammer to help lock the pieces into place. This is the first DIY kit that I actually felt like the pieces locked together and I didn't need to glue everything. I did use my crafy glue similar to caulk to make the walls really stay in place but it wasn't needed. I think the attention to detail with the instructions and smaller pieces are really amazing. I want to buy 1 of each so I can have the whole collection. I highly recommend this kit over any DIY booknook kit on Nookfan. It so easly to build and the quality is top tier. I also really appreciated the lighting kit had the cables labeled. My only complaint, is the burnt wood did have a smell.
