Honestly this book nook build was a 10/10. Instructions were super clear and easy, made it near impossible to put together wrong. It also was much more chronological with the boards and pieces, plus instructions let you know when you were entirely finished with a board. Made a fantastic gift!

This was surprisingly more easy to put together then I had originally thought. I'll admit I got a little intimidated by the instruction book when I saw it, but out of 4 booknooks I've put together this was the best one. The pieces fit together nicely and stay in place, not to much issue with the wiring and lights, instructions are clear step by step and not a lot of glue is required. I will say the only real issue I had was breaking a couple of fragile pieces that they didn't have replacement for (totally my fault for pushing too hard) and I notice the sensor on the lights has a little difficulty picking up my touch when I tap the cover it tapes to. Other than that I had a lot of fun putting this together and feel that the age range of 16+ is a good place since you do have to be careful.

The Ember Castle Draconic Catastrophe book nook kit is not for the faint of heart. With 596 pieces, many of which are tiny, this kit is safely a 5/5 difficulty.The instructions are clear with color pictures and also include a graphic novel with each “chapter” of the build. There are 2 QR codes included as well, one for a high def PDF download of the instructions and the other takes you to the theme song for the story, something unique to this kit.The kit uses standard printed MDF, some cardboard pieces, stickers and some plastic pieces. The print quality is pristine although the ink was rubbing off onto my fingers while building the cardboard dragon. It is also the first kit I have completed that has two light kits. One lights the castle, and the other lights the dragons and dungeon. Each light has different colors making it easier to differentiate the correct lights needed for the step.Some of the joints were not as tight as I would expect and more glue was used than expected. Being almost double the size of a standard book nook, the finished build does seem fairly solid. You build the dark dragon first and have the option to build the fire dragon and decide which one you want to include in your build.Overall, a nice kit which I would not recommend for beginners. A great addition to your other fantasy style book nooks.
